The central idea of my concentration is to create physiological environments that can only exist in one's mind. The work in my concentration uses techniques of digital manipulation to alter the sense of reality presented within the image. Digital elements were used to manipulate the environment by breaking up the main subject into fractured or motion blur elements. Pieces were further manipulated by combining imagery with ink elements. Furthermore, the inking elements were used in a formalistic way to encourage unity or contrast within specific compositions. Integrating colors from the original image while varying the stroke width make the images come together in unity. Digital drawing was used to create a number of different textures found within and outside of the original compositions. The element of rhythm played an important role in the creation of movement throughout the pieces as a whole. Horizon lines werecrossed to add asymmetrical balance to the pieces and to break up the rhythm as a whole. Overall, the intense manipulation of photos came together to create an eerie aesthetic through the environments as a whole.
